January - Improving Care for Diabetic Patients

Hypoglycemia was identified as an area of opportunity for Carilion Medical Center. This enterprise-wide project aims to reduce the percentage of adult patients within Carilion Clinic inpatient environments who experience an adverse drug reaction related to insulin administration. This presentation addresses the project management tools and processes used to implement best practices for insulin management in the midst of COVID-19 and transitioning project managers.

 

Stephanie Whitecross is a Certified Project Manager in the Process Improvement department at Carilion Clinic. In this role, Stephanie leads projects related to quality improvement and patient safety. Prior to joining the Process Improvement department in May 2021, Stephanie was part of Carilion's Human Resources department as a Workplace Culture Specialist. In this role, she led several projects related to improving the employee experience. Stephanie is new to PMI and just earned her PMP certification in August 2021.
