Board Member Spotlight - Megan Adkins

Hi PMI-SWVA Chapter Members,

Below is our spotlight for our VP of Professional Development, Megan Adkins. 

My husband, Doug, and I in our favorite place - North Myrtle Beach, SC!

My daughter, Henley and I, enjoying her first boat ride. My dad’s Claytor Lake house is our favorite spot to gather as a family. I a family, to share our love of the water and outdoors. I am the 2nd of 4 kids.

At Modea, I lead our project management team, working with the most creative group software engineers, designers and analysts. We love white board walls, post it notes, bags for our 3M pads and helping our clients thrive in the face of change!

1. How long have you been a member? 3 years
2. What are your certifications? I hold my Green Belt, CSM and CSPO. No certifications through PMI yet, though I am signed up to sit for PMP Exam August 23. 
3. How has PMI supported your goals / growth? Getting involved in PMI has significantly expanded my network locally and provided me with amazing resources to continue expanding my knowledge.
4. What is one lesson learned you would like to share with your fellow members? There is no such thing as failure. There are lessons learned, which are the greatest opportunities to grow and ensure success the next go round.
