2020 has been such an exciting year for our PMI Chapter, and 100% different than we originally planned! We started the year meeting in person, sharing a meal and networking, and learning about Change Management and paths to get certified. March also brought our first virtual site meeting in Roanoke in to keep monthly content closer to your home. But as April rolled around, we went from virtual sites to completely virtual and meeting from home via zoom! Despite the curve ball 2020 threw us it has still been such fun to come together (separately) with you all and have some amazing chapter meetings.
A benefit of the virtual world, however, is the opportunity we’ve had to bring speakers from all over the country! We had an energetic meeting with Saby Waraich from the west coast about complex government sector projects, and a challenge from Ruth Pierce in North Carolina to improve our social intelligence in order to more effectively manage projects!
We also learned about PMIs newest certification, Disciplined Agile, learned easy ways to earn PDUs, and in December we will cover all the changes to the exam that are coming.
I hope this year has been one of growth and improvement for you and that these chapter meetings have helped you both professionally and personally. It has been exciting to get to bring you this content as your VP of Programs and I can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for 2021!
As always, please reach out with topics YOU would like to see!
Have a Happy Holiday!
